Alia Harlan

Alia Harlan – has been teaching dance for the past 18 years.  She has trained with the top dancers and choreographers in Orange County and Los Angeles. Working and assisting for the talented Carol Harder, Sallie Whalen, Joe Tremaine, Paula Morgan and others. After graduating from UC Irvine with a BA in dance and a BA in social science, she completed the last year of the Tremaine Year Long Intensive Scholarship Program.  She then went on to study privately with Paula Morgan for four years. With over forty top choreography awards, she continues to believe technique and passion are the ways to create a dancer, not just rehearsing for the sake of a trophy. She has been a guest choreographer for many local studios and high schools. Alia choreographed Solos for the National Jr. Male Dancer of the Year, Mr. Jr. Dance, Miss Dance and Miss Teen Dance, and Spotlight Solo Finalist.

She is also proud to be the choreographer of two Best of Show winners for Tremaine National finals. Alia has performed for the LA Comedy Awards, appeared in Fame LA and was a featured model for Sophisticated Hairstyles. Represented by DDO Dance, she continues to audition for dance and modeling jobs to bring a fresh industry perspective to her students. Wanting to give back to the community, she is involved with Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation, Dancers Responding to Aids, as well as, working on her Master's in Counseling.  She hopes to complete a PHD program focusing on dance therapy as a more universal approach to those in need. Alia is a member of the American Dance Therapy Association.
