2006-2007 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
It has been quite a year. Ms Sisely was on Who Wants to be the Next Pussycat Doll . It was fun to watch her sing and dance on the show. Since then, Ms Sisely has been working on her music and has cut a single, Do the Robot . Sisley is also the lead of the group Sislely and the Safety Pin Ups .
LA DanceForce
Our performing group members attended the LA DanceForce Convention and Competition. Sara Hauser and Chelsea Cordova were recognized for their dance, I Can Only Imagine choreographed by Miss Lindsay as the overall winner for the teen category. Parameters also placed overall in the senior division. Monique Metsers was one of two finalists for a studio scholarship out of approximately 200 senior students. Ms Ching Ching was chosen as one of the 10 Dance with the Force 2006-2007 Dance Ensemble National Award Recipients which included 3 month dance scholarship, a performance with the EDGE, and other prizes. Although Ms Ching Ching was not able to accept the 3 month scholarship, she was still awarded a 1 month scholarship which she will be using later this summer.
Tremaine Dance Convention
The studio was allowed to take 9 dance numbers to the Tremaine Dance Convention and Competition. We received 4 first places, 2 second places and 2 third places. Parameters , one of our senior numbers received top score for the entire division (out of 100 dances). Isaac Huerta and Alyssa Urrutia both received convention scholarships. Ms Deborah, Monique Metsers, Suzi Pease, and Ms Ching Ching assisted at the convention as part of the Tremaine Apprentice Company. Ms Ching Ching and Suzi were both honored by dancing in the faculty show.
CZAR and Starbound
The performing group members also attended two dance competitions, CZAR in Ontario and Starbound in Redondo Beach. At CZAR the dancers received 17 first places, 7 second places and 2 third places. The studio received 4 platinum and 3 gold top choreography awards for the day. Overall soloists were Tatiana Mya, Sara Hauser and Ching Ching Wong. At Starbound, the dancers were equally impressive as Call the Law won overall for the teen category and Bloom was recognized to be the top dance of the weekend. Everyone represented Allegria proudly.
Joe Tremaine and KTLA News
Joe Tremaine honored our dancers by allowing them to perform to represent his convention on KTLA Channel 5 news. Candlelight and Asylum were performed and the dancers had not only a great time but a great experience working in front of the TV cameras.
Tremaine Nationals
Congratulations to Isaac Huerta for being one of the eight finalist for Tremaine Teen Dancer of the Year. Good Job Isaac.
However, it is not these awards that makes me proud to own this studio. It is all of you, the dancers, families and friends who value technique, passion and the arts that make my job a very blessed one. Thank you all for supporting the studio and joining in your dancer's growth and achievements.
